For Hopewell Township, all the unincorporated areas of the township are governed by the Hopewell Township Zoning Resolution. (See Below for Link) Hopewell Township Zoning consist of a Zoning Inspector and two convened boards. The five member boards are known as the Zoning Commission and the Board of Zoning Appeals.

- Construction, structural alteration or enlargement of any non-agricultural building or structure, including permanent accessory buildings.
- Change of use on an existing building or land.
Includes but not limited to...
- New Construction of any non-agricultural structure.
- Addition on any existing buildings or structure except agriculture purposed structures. Examples: Residence Room Additions, Decks, Porches, Carport, Garage, Swimming Pool, Storage Buildings, Signs or Conversions from agriculture to non-agriculture structures.
- Change of a business form one business to a different or new business including signs.
